After answering the same questions multiple times over the last several years about ‘hacking’ the sodastream I’ve put it together in one video… 
Here’s how you Refill your Soda Stream Co2 Bottles, and how to use Bag-In-Box (BiB) syrup that you buy in bulk to make regular (same as a restaurant or what you buy in cans)  soda (pop)  (in this case Diet Coke) at home, for ½ to a third of what it costs you in the store.

Update2: We've now moved to a bigger 20lb CO2 tank. Costs $5 more to exchange at the gas company than the 5Gal ones, but laasts 4 times longer - for us about 4 months.
Paid for itself in the first three months.

Mother nature is continually trying to kill you in many ways.
If you're worried about Diet Coke, well .. that's up to you how you want to enjoy your life!
We drink many other beverages, including plain water - but that's not what this video is about.
It's about how to easily make your own carbonated water at home, and put whatever you want in it ;)


It’s not magic, the corner soda fountain did it for many many years - yes, you can also do it at home, easily.
1. Carbonate water.
2. Add syrup or flavoring.
That’s it.

You can also ‘help save the planet’ if it’s a thing for you by eliminating an IMMENSE amount of post consumer waste by no longer throwing away all of those plastic bottles and aluminum cans.

Save gas, time and energy by not driving to the store and lugging home bottles or cans of soda.

The Co2 in these bottles is very safe, but if you’re not comfortable with the idea of filling your own bottles, then simply buy the exchange cylinders from Bed Bath and Beyond or Target, and you’ll still have great savings in both $ and time/energy.
